HISTORY OF ARROR NEAR ROHRI



About five miles south-east of Rohri and close to the Eastern Nara supply canal is the small village of Arore, Aror or Alore, comprising a few hundred inhabitants. It stands upon part of what was the capital of Sindh more than a thousand years ago. In the description of ancient Alore given in the Chach Namah, we are told that it was a town adorned with various kinds of royal buildings, villas, gardens, fountains, streams, meadows, and trees and was situated on the bank of the River Mehran. In this beautiful and splendid city, there lived a king whose name was Sahiras, son of Sahasi Rai. This king had innumerable riches and thinking was well-known in the world. The limits of his dominions extended east to the boundary of Kashmir, west to Makran, to the south to the sea-coast and Debal, and to the appointed four governors (Maliks) in his kingdom.In the reign

Imposing. Designed like a Showpiece. A rock like none other. Cut into four quarters by the power unknown. Too good to be result of seismic waves or constant winds. Chattan Shah ji Takri in Aror ignites imagination. People needed legends to support its existence. A ten foot long grave lies at its base. It is referred to a companion of Hazrat Ali incidentally named Ali aswell. According to the legend he cut the rock in four halves and won a furious battle against Kalkaan Devi whose mandir is few km away from the rock.

Aror was capital of Sindh when Muhammad Bin Qasim arrived. In 962 it was hit by a massive earthquake that changed the course of the Indus River and the city’s destiny. It partially explains Chattan Shah ji Takri and other landmarks interesting design. The place can be accessed from Rohri By pass on National Highway. Take the link road near the petrol pump before railway crossing (if heading to Punjab). Head to Aror town. From Muhammad Bin Qasim Public school, take right and drive at least two km before you see the rock from distance. Climb only if you have proper shoes. The first step is the most difficult one. Reach the top and you will see Aror landscape. A recently dug canal has irrigated land on one side of the road. A mosque is built at the top. The rock will be crowded if you visit it on the weekend or on a holiday. Best time to visit Aror is in winter.

Arror Rock is one of the most beautiful rocks in Pakistan. It is situated near Rohri in Sindh. The shape of Rock has been changes due to natural forces and sea waves. In France, you can see a similar rock which is also shaped by huge sea waves; Arror rock is similar to this. You can see a shrine on the top of the rock, looks amazing.
The shape of rock was caused by unknown natural forces. There is also a Shrine on the top. The Paleolithic Aror hill of Rohri is an amazing wonder stratified thousands of years ago. The shape of Aror hill also resembles with a rock in France that has been formulated by the massive movements of ocean waves. A shrine is also constructed on the right top of Arore hill. The Arore hill of Rohri is one of the most distinct Paleolithic site in the Rohri Hills which is located near the village of Chancha Baloch . This site is also only is only a few kilometers away from the pre-Harappan settlement of Kot Diji.
